Following in the footsteps of her Mother and Father, Naomi was originally on a western medical track. However, as she watched her mother suffer through the debilitating western medical treatments for breast cancer, she began to look at alternative forms of healing. A few years later, Naomi tried Acupuncture for the first time, and realized that Chinese Medicine was truly powerful. Through her education and personal experience with both Western and Eastern Medicine, Naomi understands the necessity and value of both modalities. She believes that an integrative approach to medicine offers the best opportunity for complete healing. Naomi is passionate about holistic healthcare and would love to share with you the amazing healing powers of Chinese medicine.
While in graduate school Naomi completed a 3 year internship with the well-established practitioner, Jack Schaeffer L.Ac, C.H. of Mountain West Wellness in Boulder, CO. The internship training was primarily focused around the healing energy system of the Yin Style Bagua lineage of the late Dr. Xie Pei Qi. This family medicine was used in the Emperors palace of China during the Qing Dynasty, and is still used in China today. Specifically, she learned the complete Qi Gong system, Tui-Na massage, free-hand Acupuncture and Herbal techniques of the YSB lineage. This internship proved to be an invaluable learning experience, that gave Naomi the tools she needed for more powerful healing.
During her time at S.W.A.C. , Naomi also completed the Sports Medicine program with Whit Reaves L.Ac and Chad Bong L.Ac. This program gave her thorough orthopedic knowledge and musculoskeletal testing skills. Along with sufficient knowledge of trigger point therapy and other effective treatment strategies for treating a wide range of patients suffering from sports injuries and acute/chronic pain. She also interned at the Chautauqua Herbal Pharmacy with the infamous Charles Chace L.Ac and Jason Blalack L.Ac for two years. Working within this comprehensive Chinese Herbal Pharmacy with these famous herbalists greatly improved her knowledge of Chinese Herbal therapy.
The time spent with these amazing practitioners in Boulder CO during her course of study at S.W.A.C, proved to be invaluable to her education and clinical skills necessary to effectively practice Traditional Chinese Medicine on a variety of patients.
Naomi’s medical training includes Acupuncture, Chinese Herbal medicine, Medical Qi Gong, Tui-Na massage, cupping, moxibustion, Gua Sha, auriculotherapy, and Traditional Oriental Medicine dietary and lifestyle recommendations.
