Valerie Lam received her BS in Biology from the University of Colorado Denver with the intention of applying for medical school first then studying Chinese Medicine. After working in in pain management clinics and caring for stroke and cancer patients, she decided to pursue her passion of a gentle, more holistic and natural way to healing and wellness.
Valerie completed her Masters of Traditional Chinese Medicine degree from the Colorado School of Traditional Chinese Medicine. The accelerated 3-year program consists of 3,045 hours of education including 990 hours of clinical practice. Valerie's training includes acupuncture, auricular acupuncture, electro-stimulation, internal medicine, moxibustion, tui na, gua sha, cupping, bloodletting, and Chinese nutrition. The National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine (NCCAOM) certified Valerie as a Diplomat of Chinese Herbal Medicine and Acupuncture. Valerie is a licensed acupuncturist and is licensed as a Diplomat of Chinese Herbal Medicine through the State of Colorado.
In addition to TCM, Valerie has also studied Classical Chinese Medicine which is a system primarily based on classical Chinese texts. CCM is rooted in the ancient origins of Oriental medicine and is based on the theory that the macro- and microcosm all have a unique effect on our bodies and health.
